The Senate Republican Antisemitism Working Group, led by Senator Jack Martins, has released its report on the rise of antisemitism in New York State. The group was formed in response to the alarming trend of Jewish hate crimes growing in the state, aiming to shine a light on the issue that had been gaining momentum.

"In 2022 alone, New York City saw 263 anti-semitic attacks, more than double the number of previous years and a figure that dramatically underscored what was a nationwide problem," stated the working group. The report highlighted the concerning increase in antisemitic hate crimes across the state, particularly in an area with the largest Jewish population in the United States.

The group's efforts included holding meetings with stakeholders and organizing two roundtable hearings in Rockland County and Nassau County. Senator Jack Martins, Chair of the working group, emphasized the importance of addressing this issue in a state that has long been recognized for its tolerance.
